Travelling to the event

Please share cars with other riders and supporters to minimise traffic.

 When in Portree

Please treat the town of Portree with respect. This event could not take place without the support of local people and they have been extremely helpful.

 Registration

Open between 7.00 and 8.30 on Saturday morning

Parking and Registration will take place at the Community Centre. Turn left from the town square. It will be sign posted. There will be marshals to direct you for parking.

At registration you will be required to sign a disclaimer for event insurance.  You will then get your number and a route card. Attach the number to the handlebars of your bike so it is easily accessible. There will be a bar code on the number card which needs to be scanned to record your start and finish times.

 The Start

Starts are between 9.00 and 9.30. It is 10 mins riding from registration to the start. Your number will be scanned to record your start time and off you go.

When deciding what time to go note that:

There is a cut off time of 14.00 at the junction of the A87 and A850 where the Skye Beag and Skye Mor routes split. (You need to average more than 10mph to arrive before the cut off). If you arrive at this junction after 14.00 you will be directed onto the Skye Beag route and will not be allowed to continue on the Skye Mor route.

The finish for both courses will close at 19.30. You must arrive at the finish before this time.

 On the Course

All roads are open to traffic so ride with care. Please allow other traffic to pass. You must follow the Highway Code.

The Red Cross are providing first aid cover and there will be a broom wagon sweeping up at the back.
