Travelling to the event

Please share cars with other riders and supporters to minimise traffic.

Registration

Open between 8.00 and 9.30 on Sunday morning up at Cairngorm Mountain Centre.

Parking is also there. Please follow marshal instructions for parking.

At registration you will be required to sign a disclaimer for event insurance.  You will then get your number and a route card. Attach the number to the handlebars of your bike so it is easily accessible. There will be a bar code on the number card which needs to be scanned to record your start and finish times.

The excellent Cairngorm Mountain café will be open from 8.00 for breakfasts

 The Start

Starts are between 9.30 and 10.00. Your number will be scanned to record your start time and off you go.

When deciding what time to go note that:

There is a cut off time of 12.30 at the A939 where the 50 and 100 mile routes split (You need to average more than 10mph to arrive before the cut off). If you arrive at this junction after 12.30 you will be directed onto the 50 mile route and will not be allowed to continue on the 100 mile route.

The finish for both courses will close at 19.30. You must arrive at the finish before this time.

On the Course

Keep your speed down on the descent from Cairngorm. There are sharp bends and steep drop offs.

All roads are open to traffic so ride with care. Please allow other traffic to pass. You must follow the Highway Code.

At the junction of the B9153 (from Carrbridge) and the A95 you will be directed onto the cycle path. You must follow the cycle path to cross the A95 and continue along the cycle path to the feed station at Boat of Garten.

The Red Cross are providing first aid cover and there will be a broom wagon sweeping up at the back.

 Food & Drink

There will be four stations for food & water at

Nethy Bridge (50 mile route out and back and 100 mile route)

Glenlivet (100 mile route)

Grantown (100 mile route)

Boat of Garten (100 mile route)

They will provide bananas and tray bakes with water. Be careful when entering and exiting these stops.  Look out for those behind you and for other traffic.

YOU MUST ALSO ENSURE THAT YOU START WITH SUFFICIENT DRINKS ON BOARD AND SOME FOOD IN YOUR BACK POCKET!

IF YOU RETIRE FROM THE EVENT YOU MUST TELL A MARSHALL

 The Finish

Your number will be scanned to record your time.

There will be hot food, tea/coffee free at the finish.

Professional sports massage will be available for donations to charity.

Have a great event and a safe journey home!
